 Peace and Justice for Congo

Welcome to the Congo Ubuntu Peace Building Center website, where our goal is to promote peace, justice and a civil society in Congo.

Gola! Be Strong
Gola means be strong in Kimbala, my language. My name is Fidele Lumeya and I’m the CACPD & CUPBC Executive Director. Learn more about my Congo heritage and education in peace, justice and developement through conflict management.

I encourage you to not only be interested in  who we are and what we do, but to get involved (or to become a member) in our Peace, Justice and Development work in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Who we are

We are a network of individuals and organizations with different expertise in the field of Conflict Transformation and Development.
Read our CACPD 2010 Brief Report
We focus our work on outcomes and make sure that we have verifiable indicators to measure the changes that we want to see in people's lives. Therefore, we use the BACKSA approach and teach it to our partners. BACKSA is  defined  as: Changes in Behavior, Attitudes, Conditions of people, their Knowledge before and after, Skills acquired and, Aspiration to evaluate our work.

We  stay away from the ‘giving the fish’ and ‘teaching to fish’ approaches but  focus on   ‘teaching  to fish and opening the market’.  This is where peace, justice and development of Congo lie. That’s our raison d'être. Our partners have demonstrated  this as you will read and see through our pictures.

Thank you and let’s be in touch
